L'Alfatière vineyard is a 18 hectares vineyard owned by Jean-Luc Merle, some of the wines he owns are in Belleville, the village where he lives, but most of his vineyard is located in another town called Pizay. The name of the vineyard comes from a flower called Alfa that grows on European hills. Jean-Luc Merle has been producing wine since 1982. He makes 6 kind of wines out of his vineyard: Beaujolais, Brouilly, Bourgogne Blanc (white wine), Moulin a Vent and Crémant de Bourgogne. He sells his wine mostly in Germany, France and Netherlands.
