The Beaujolais wine region is one of the main wine area of France. This region is located in the middle East of France as you can see on the map below.

Even though 9800 hectares of the region produce the wine called beaujolais, 12,200 other hectares of this region are used to produce other appellations of wines. There are 12 other wines appellations, besides Beaujolais, produced in the Beaujolais wine region:

• Cote de Brouilly
